10 Months Old

The girls turned ten months old on Saturday, March 7th. This is such a great age. They are becoming so independent that it is making things a bit easier but it is also sad to see how fast they are growing up. They can now all hold their own bottles which makes feeding 3 at the same time a lot easier and much more manageable to do on your own. They can also get up and down from positions so they don't have to rely on us to pick them up as much.

Molly is very very mobile and hardly ever sits still. She can stand up with only one hand holding on to something now and she's even let go a couple of times for a few seconds. She also loves to dance! Anytime a toy makes a little music, she starts bopping to it. So funny. Tess is very mobile as well and can stand holding on to things with more sturdiness. She does her best to keep up with Molly, always following her around. She has been giggling a ton lately so she is just so cute. Madeline is still doing her good ole army crawl but she does enjoy standing up now too if we put her in position and take her down. Madeline is so cute with anybody that she encounters because she immediately gives a huge smile or laugh. I took her to the grocery store and she never stopped smiling. She just had so much fun looking around and mingling with all the employees and other shoppers. Molly is the serious/inquisitive one who likes to stare everyone up and down before she will crack a smile. She really needs to check you out and take it all in but she will pretty much go to anyone who wants to hold her as well. Tess is a little more shy and needs to be by mommy. But, it doesn't take long for her to also warm up and start giggling. They all have the cutest laughs that are very different from each other.

As for other outings, Molly and I went to a fun little song/story time at the library in Hoboken. Tess and I went to church for ash Wednesday. I figured she deserved something else in addition to church, so we went to Target together this weekend. Maddy had the grocery store outing and also went to the grocery store in the Bjorn with Dennis one day which they both loved. It is so nice to get out with just one baby...it is like a whole different experience.

They have been bumping themselves left and right with all this new found mobility. Maddy is certainly the toughest and doesn't seem to mind getting roughed up by her sisters or bopping her head, etc. Tess is a bit dramatic over any type of spill and needs to be comforted. Molly is pretty tough too and she may cry but keeps on moving.

The teeth just keep on coming. Molly has 3 on top right now so she looks so old to me. Tess has a couple more coming in on top as well and she has felt them coming in. Madeline will all of a sudden have a new tooth and will have shown zero signs of teething.

They are sleeping through the night but somebody always seems to get up much too early. We are always holding our breath that they don't wake the others up and we can just attend to the one baby. The daylight savings hour ahead seems to have helped us get to at least 6am vs. 5am wake ups. But, again, there always seems to be a different baby each night that ruins a full nights rest. But, it is sooo much better on the sleep front. They take pretty good naps of 1-2 hours in both the morning and the afternoon. So, this is a really nice break to have.

I ended my run with nursing this past week as they approached their 10 month mark. I would have really like to have made it a year but the girls had other plans. They just weren't into it anymore and were pushing me away too much and preferring a bottle. So, I figured it was a good time to just end it. Oh well. It is bittersweet to be done. I really enjoyed nursing them, the convenience, and the health benefits. But, hopefully we are close enough to the end of winter that they won't get sick and I did enjoy packing up my breast pump and being done with that part of it!

We are in Binghamton right now and the girls are enjoying exploring a nice big house. They have been so good and seem to adjust so well to any new environment we bring them into. They have been eating more and more finger food and seem to be less interested in baby food these days. We won't be back to the pediatrician until they are one year old so I'm not sure how much they weigh these days. But, they are at such a cute age with their little bodies and faces and giggles and babbles. I really love this age!

We are still looking for a new home and have started to zero in on some towns at least (NJ: Hawthorne, Livingston, Glen Rock, Westwood, Hillsdale, Rutherford; NY: Pearl River, Nyack, Tappan to name a few). We will really miss Hoboken and all the conveniences but will not miss the parking situation and the 43% tax increase which is a huge motivator to get out there.

Well, I guess that is all that is new with us for now. We are looking forward to Spring!
