Working Girls?

As Dennis has joked, I may have just created the next "Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton and Britney Spears". Let's hope not!!!! It all started with a conversation on a walk with my friend Courtney who has 18 month old triplets who told me about her friend Ingrid who is a talent agent in NYC and how they went on a bunch of auditions when they were babies. She called Ingrid and told her about us and next thing you know, Ingrid set us up with a few auditions. I guess this is one of the bonuses of having multiples. I never thought I would get involved in this industry and want nothing to do with the land of stage moms, but this could be fun for awhile. Seeing as the winter is approaching and our days of going to the pool and out for walks are over, it will give us something to do to get out of the house. Oh, and the chance to bring in a few dollars is nice too considering I have zero income now. But, of course, the money will go to the girls' accounts (required by law anyway) which is a great way to start saving for them. So, anyway, we went on a couple photo shoot auditions for Fisher Price and then two soap operas - All My Children and One Life to Live. This has all been over the last 3 weeks and we found out last week that they got the job for One Life to Live. They hired all 3 girls to play "Baby Chloe" which is the character Starr's soon to be baby. They may or may not even appear in the episode depending on how things go because I understand they hired several babies and will just see how things work out during the shooting. They are signed up for 3 days of shooting starting Monday, 9/29. I expected the worst going on these auditions but they exceeded my expectations as everyone was so nice and respectful of the babies and we were in and out of there in no time. One time we showed up for the Fisher Price audition and all three girls were still sleeping and they told us to let them sleep and they would wait for them to wake up. It turns out that on the One Life to Live gig, they provide a Baby Nurse to help us and a dedicated room for us and meals. So, the way my mom and I figure is that this could be easier than being at home with just us. I also figure we should take advantage while we are still living so close to NYC. We'll see how it goes though and how the girls react to it all. Tess has had huge #2's during two of the auditions so she may have a little nervous stomach...poor thing. Stay tuned! Henry's baptism was a great day and he was a little angel during it all. Here are a few pictures to leave you with......

Old Video Footage - Homecoming

Below is a video from when Madeline and Tess came home from the hospital (Molly was already home for a week). They were so small! It isn't until you see a hand come into the picture or you notice how big their pacifiers look to realize just how small they were.

Here is another video of them all together. Keep in mind too that the clothes they have on are premie size and they are still huge. Unbelievable how much they have grown!

I love this picture of Carolynn and Henry:

This is what I came out to find one Saturday morning when Dennis let me sleep in a bit. Dennis had his reggae music playing for the girls as they were camped out in the TV room.

4 Months+ and Thriving

The girls turned 4 months old back on Sept. 7th and are doing great. We saw the doctor last week and they are now in the 10th percentile (25th percentile when looking at their adjusted age). Their weights are as follows:
Molly - 10 pounds, 10 ounces
Madeline - 10 pounds, 11 ounces
Tess - 10 pounds, 8 ounces
They are all 22 1/2 inches

Yes, Madeline who was born in the middle weight and was then lagging behind the other two for a couple months, is now the heaviest. She does like to eat and she was also receiving rice cereal in her bottles of milk at night to help keep it down, so that may have contributed to her weight gain. They are all looking so cute and chubby and rounded out now...love it.

They are all looking more alike then ever too. They are squealing and babbling and smiling a lot. They are rolling side to side and sometimes over and are able to sit up pretty nicely in their chairs. They've also started to REALLY notice each other now. The other night I was feeding Molly and Tess at the same time (they are now sturdy enough to do it without the nursing pillow...so nice) and they stopped to look at each other and were "speaking" back and forth to each other and grabbing hands. It was precious.

We had a nice time in Bethany Beach with the Sullivan family for the week over Labor Day. We had perfect weather all week - 80's, sunny, no humidity. We went to the pool a few times, the beach, out to dinner two nights after the girls were in bed and had lots of good times hanging out at the nice big house we rented. It had a screened in porch and big wrap around deck so it was nice to be able to feed the girls outside for a change. The girls did pretty good in the car for the most part until the last 1/2 hour when we had more of a stop/go situation with traffic lights. This got a little hairy and required a lot of me reaching over the seats to put their pacifiers in. December cannot come soon enough for us to trade in our 4Runner for a Minivan (even though I will sooo miss our SUV days). We stopped in Havertown at Michael's on the way down to change/feed and then stayed at Sean and Becky O'Loughlin's in Westchester, PA on the way back for the night to break up the drive. We had a nice time with them and Will and Finn even though the girls were pretty out of sorts by this point of the trip.

We realized after our week in Bethany that the girls were becoming more fussy and was probably due to them not really napping well. They use to be able to sleep wherever and whenever and could sleep through any noise, but now they are too alert and wake up easily. So, the days of them napping in the living room are over and we have been making sure to put them down in their cribs now when we see them getting tired. This has been hard because they cry out and are still only taking brief cat naps (45 min.-1 hour) for the most part. It seems that just as you sit down or try to get a task accomplished, you need to go back in to assist one of them every few minutes. Every now and then one of them will get a good nap in but it is so inconsistent. But, hopefully they will get more use to taking naps and will stay down longer as they get bigger (I HOPE). I am just really craving some kind of napping schedule now so that our days can be more predictable and organized. These last couple weeks have been really tough with "sleep training" and Madeline and Tess having their first colds which required a lot of suctioning during the night. The good news is that they are still sleeping longer stretches at night and go to sleep very easily at night. We've also been able to have time to ourselves now at night. We realized they were getting tired earlier at night so we try to make the last feeding be around 7pm so they are in bed by 8pm. This has been great and much needed after the very busy days with them. There was only one night several weeks ago before we went away that they all slept through the night with no interruptions. We haven't had one of those since. There is always a good sleeper each night but then there is always at least one baby that gets up and has a rough night and that typically leads to another baby being woken up. They are all in their own cribs now with one being in the nursery and the other two are each in our bigger room in their smaller sized cribs (one on my side of the bed, the other on Dennis' side). We would like to get them all into their own room to have our room to ourselves, but worry about them waking each other up and having 3 babies awake in the middle of the night again. We also like having the extra bed in the nursery for guests or to just lay them down when we are getting them all changed after baths or whatever and we would have to get rid of that in order to fit the three cribs. So, we'll see. We really need to get going on finding a house and getting our condo on the market. It was great being in Hoboken for the summer and into the fall but by winter it will be tough to be cooped up in our small place. Plus, we are paying a huge mortgage because of the location which made sense when we were both working in the city, but now with me not working and us needing more space and parking it is not worth the money. Where we move is still the big question mark. We have been considering Binghamton, the Philly area or the suburbs of NY/NJ and it all depends on either Dennis staying with his current job or getting a new job. Last week was a crazy week on Wall Street as everyone knows and it made for long hours for Dennis. Luckily JPMorgan Chase is doing well, but it still impacted his business, clients, etc. Everything is so up in the air as to where we are going to end up so if anyone has any job leads please let us know as we are taking everything into consideration.

Things are definitely more intense/busy, but also more amazing every day. It is still heartbreaking at the times when each of our hands are full with a baby (either my mom and I or Dennis and I) and we can't pick up the third baby that might be crying. It just seems so unfair for the babies especially when it is during a feeding and they might have to wait their turn (this happens when one baby was sleeping or is content so I start breastfeeding the other baby while the 2nd baby gets a bottle and then low and behold they third baby wakes up and is screaming to be fed or held). Or if I do try and feed two at once and they get frustrated because it does not go smoothly when one has to burp and then both get interrupted and are now crying. It is at these times where it is just traumatic for the baby and for us. But, hopefully they won't be scarred for life!

The lack of extra time should explain why I have not updated the blog in a few weeks. So, let's see, what else have we been up to....
Oh, I have been doing some more individual outings with the girls which is a lot of fun. It is fun experiencing life as a mom of one baby for a few hours. We can wiz down the street in a stroller without getting noticed or stopped and be out the door in 5 minutes. I took Molly to a baptism class I had to attend with Carolynn, Steve, and Henry last Saturday. Lucky her huh? But, she was so good! I took Madeline shopping with Carolynn (her Godmother) and I later in the day. Then, I took Tess to the grocery store and to church on Sunday. Madeline seemed to enjoy shopping (I had a feeling she would) and she was soaking it all in. Tess put on a show at the grocery store with all her cooing and smiling at the other customers. Good thing they didn't get too close because she had stinkies in her pants (of course as soon as we got there I smelled it). My mom is still down here in Hoboken with my dad coming on the weekends which has been huge. My mom is even more busy now with the addition of Henry, but she is still enjoying it. Henry is so cute and we get to see a lot of him and Carolynn which has been nice. I think the girls are going to be fighting over him in days to come. They are doing an impromptu Baptism for him during the mass tomorrow and then brunch afterwards. They wanted to have it while Steve's mom is in town for a couple weeks. I was asked to be the Godmother..what an honor!

I'm in the process of getting some pictures downloaded and maybe some video too, so that will be next.
