Happy 1st Birthday To the Girls (May 7th)

I am ridiculously late with this post but it has been a crazy month. The last time I posted was at the end of March so I have a lot to catch up on and this will also be the last post so it will be a long one! My goal was to keep this blog going for their first year. I would love to go longer with it but it is just way too hard to make the time.

So, anyway, HAPPY FIRST BIRTHDAY TO MOLLY, MADELINE AND TESS ON MAY 7TH!!!

So, let's see...what have we been up to the past month? We celebrated Easter in Binghamton with Dennis' family and the girls looked so cute in their little Easter dresses. They loved playing with the plastic eggs and dancing to the singing Easter Bunny(s) that Grandma purchased for them. We would play it over and over and the three of them would stand around it and dance to it...so funny. Molly's favorite trick is to fake cough so when someone says "Molly, do you have a bad cough?" she responds with her fake cough. Tess and Maddy heard this going on for weeks so they've finally picked up on the game and do it now too.

We had a great Birthday party for them the weekend prior to their Birthday at my parents house and all of our families attended. The weather cooperated and we had a tent in the backyard. My parents did an amazing job decorating and preparing for this party. We really wouldn't have had the time to get it together without their help. I made the invitations and sent them all out and that was time consuming. Their birth flower is Lily of the Valley so we did a theme with that and pink/brown colors. We had three individual cakes for them and sang Happy Birthday to each of them and then had one big cake for the guests. It was funny seeing their faces while everyone was looking at them singing Happy Birthday...they were just wide eyed and confused. They had a great time at the party and thank you to my parents for hosting! We purchased the Pottery Barn toddler chairs for them for their Birthday and are keeping them at my parents house for now. They are these comfy cushion chairs with their names on them and polka dots (purple/white for Maddy, pink/white for Molly and green/white for Tess -- their colors). They LOVE them and are so cute when they sit all nice in them. They also love to climb them though.

The girls have been really thriving over the last month and they have officially turned into toddlers. Molly started walking back on April 19th and she never stopped. Her level of activity and curiosity are exhausting yet amazing to watch. Tess and Maddy are both standing on their own for several moments now and are neck and neck with who will walk next. Here are some of their stats:
Molly: 6 teeth (4 on top, 2 on bottom); 17 lbs, 2 oz.; 28" (she is our long and lean baby)
Maddy: 4 teeth (2 on top, 2 on bottom); 17 lbs; 27" (she is the shortest but she is very muscular)
Tess: 6 teeth (4 on top, 2 on bottom) 17 lbs, 12 oz.; 27.5"(Tess who was born the smallest is now the largest)

My mom and I took them to their one year check-up and it was a lot of work! We were there for a couple hours. They did a thorough eye exam where I would have a baby on my lap and they stuck all these plugs around her head and put a patch over one eye and then they would look at a screen with images and music. It was a creative way of doing an eye exam because it did keep their attention and then I would just hold their hands so they wouldn't pull the plugs off. My mom had to keep the other two babies entertained and out of everything in the exam room. But, they all did well and their eyesight is all good. They also received several immunization shots so they were not happy babies at the end of it. But, afterwards, we went to the park and had lunch.

It has been so nice being able to get outside more and they love going on the swings at the park. There are a ton of parks here in Hoboken so it is so great for them. There is one portion of the park on our street designed for toddlers. So there are all sorts of short little things for them to play with and cruise around on. Plus the baby swings. The floor of the gated play area is a nice spongy surface so they don't hurt themselves when they fall. In Binghamton we took them to the Merry Go Round for the first time at Recreation Park and they were in awe of it.

We had a great time over Memorial Day weekend with the families and at the Vaughan's party with all the LeMoyne crew -- 19 kids. The girls swam for the first time and LOVED it. The water was 80+ degrees so they stayed in for an hour or more and it was great. They also had a blast in the jumping fun house. Then we went to our cottage on Sunday with all our relatives and there were a lot of babies there too.

They have been transitioning pretty well from the bottle to the sippy cup. They love the taste of whole milk and we love not having to deal with formula!!! They have also been trying tons of new foods. They like raviolis, any kind of meat and chicken, veggie burgers, toast with cream cheese, any kind of cheese, yogurt, spinach/broccoli cakes, pumpkin and blueberry muffins, grilled cheese, pizza, watermelon, strawberries, peas, carrots, avocado, etc. etc.. It has been great being able to give them eggs now in the morning too. They are still sleeping great through the night now going to bed between 7pm-8pm and getting up around 6am. We only wish that they would sleep until 7am but oh well. Madeline actually LOVES to sleep and does sometimes sleep in later (7am, even 8am). She will try and ignore Tess and Molly's chatter but sometimes she wakes up with them.

Their distinct personalities are still shining through. For example, at the music class the other day, Molly was clinging to me for the first couple minutes but then she was off and interacting with everyone in the room. Walking right up to people and dancing to the music...she likes getting laughs out of people. She is so independent and social. She is also drawn to the older kids in social settings. She is also the cuddly one who will snuggle up into your arms especially when she is tired. Tess was enjoying the class immensely and was just sitting there smiling and playing....she was more reserved. Tess is growing more and more attached to her "doggy" (mini security blanket with a blue and white spotted dog). She is the sensitive one and likes to always have something in her hands. She has the most hair and the only one with blue eyes now. All of their hair has become very blond now. Maddy was still for the beginning part of the class but then saw a little boy playing over by the door and window and she started playing peekaboo with the curtain and him. A flirt in the making? Maddy has progressed the most with mastering crawling and then standing up and standing unassisted all in one month. She is very ticklish so it is fun to get her going with her deep belly laugh.

Things are really heating up on One Life to Live with the girls now being reunited with their true "mom" on the show - Starr. We had a couple of days where they filmed on location which was fun. They STILL seem to enjoy going there and being around all the people. I'll post some new pictures and commercials in a separate post. I also have lots of pictures to post from the past month.

On the house front, we have our condo on the market and found a house that we originally put an offer in on over a month ago. It is in Rutherford, NJ and we really liked it. We didn't get it but then it turns out that the buyers fell through and we were next in line. So, it is back on and we are now in attorney review. Fingers crossed we get this house and would be moving in late July!

Well, thank you to everyone who is reading this post and for everyone who has provided us with all the help and support over this past year. We really appreciate it! To our three little angels Molly, Madeline and Tess...we love you!
